Things at the candy store have been rather quiet. It is summer and alot of our customers are on vacation or away from home, events are on hold, and the kids are away at camp. We know this will happen in July and August. It happens every year. We are relaxing a bit and enjoying our down time. In three weeks, things will start to get back to normal and before we know it we will be into the holidays. I don't have any pics to show you right now, but I will take some and put them in my next post. Meanwhile, enjoy the last few weeks of freedom and fun and we'll see you soon. Love ya, Jean

Moving right along..........before we know it, it'll be Easter!
So, Happy Valentine's Day everyone, and love to all........

This is the front table that you see when you enter the store. Lots of foiled milk chocolate red & pink roses, chocolate covered pretzels, Oreos, plush bears, novelty chocolates, and more.
This is a little stack of tables at the end of the chocolate case, featuring one of our Valentine's Day gift baskets, a large chocolate kiss, cinnamon hearts, and chocolate covered Oreo cookies. Yum!
We have these faux candies hanging from the ceiling. The kids love them and they are usually the first ones to notice them. Or maybe they are just more vocal about them than the adults. I had a customer buy two of them last Christmas. She was buying them for her Mom and sister and she tucked a $100 dollar bill in the one for Mom and $50.00 in the one for her sister. She said they really loved them and hung them in their home. I made them from styrofoam, painted them, wrapped them in cellophane, and added some ribbons. Aren't they cute? These are the ones above the side window..........
These are above the front window..........
And further back in the store........
These add to the ambiance and atmosphere of fun and whimsy at Sweet Boutique.

We mold these chocolate heart boxes in milk, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and pink chocolate and then we fill them with truffles and molded chocolates.
This is the pink one.
It was a very good day today. Lots of traffic in and out of the shop with lots of customers buying Valentine's Day candy for their loved ones. This is so much fun!

This is the side window of the store.
Inside of the store is bright and sunny most of the time. Today the weather was very gloomy and it started to sleet about 12:00. It changed to rain about 30 minutes later and was steady rain the rest of the time I was there. Today I made some Sweet Scribbles, which is toffee popcorn, Kopper's Milkies, broken pretzels and it is all drizzled with three kinds of chocolate. Yummy! Then I made some dark chocolate and milk chocolate covered graham crackers. These are so good. We call them "Fudgie Grahams" and they are a favorite of our landlady! We also filled about a dozen Valentine Heart Boxes with chocolate truffles. It's fun getting ready for the big day!

I, together with my younger daughter, own a candy store, called Sweet Boutique. Imagine having so much sweetness at your fingertips day in and day out! Our chocolates are superb, we have lots of nostalgic candy and fudge that is the best in the country. We mold and dip chocolate. We make all kinds of chocolate lollipops and molded novelty items. So, that's what I do most of the day. Right now we are getting ready for Valentine's Day. A big job to say the least. We buy the fancy heart boxes and fill them with the chocolates from our candy case. We also put together gifts for the kids and mold many chocolate gift items. Today I made a trio of a hockey player pop with a hockey stick and puck. I've been concentrating on the boy type gifts because the customers are always asking for something to give to them. This holiday is a last minute one, customers wait 'til the day before or the day of and then we get swamped. So we have to have everything in place and ready to go. It's crazy and fun at the same time, and at the end of the day we are totally exhausted. But it's what we work so hard for starting Jan. 2, and it is one of my favorite holidays. The romance factor is the main reason I love it so much. We never say "I love you" enough. And at this time, it is so good to feel the love that is all around us. The customers want only the best and most beautiful to show their loved ones how much they care about them. I will be adding some pics of the store later. For now, it is late and I must open the store tomorrow morning, so I need to wrap it up for now. I am excited about getting to know some of you and am looking forward to reading more of your blogs.
